June began CrAzY!!! the last few days before our departure were full of hurried packing, lots of worry (unnecessary, but still there), mixed feelings and a big mess in my room :D. When you're leaving for a 3 month-long trip, it's hard to differentiate what you NEED to bring and what you WANT to bring. You'll never know what you need... Well, whether any of us WANTED to take that plane ride, I don't know, but it was worth it when we arrived. Our trip lasted almost 24 hours, total time of plane rides and layovers in airports. We rode China Airlines via Cebu-Manila-Taipei-Seattle-Houston. The most interesting itinerary I myself remember. Usually we go Cebu-Hong Kong- L.A.-Dallas-Houston. It was a loooooong flight, but we all made it through. I actually slept more than 3/4 of the whole time we were in transit. That's a record! Well, for me anyway.
We were met in the airport by a large group of people including Clint's (my brother in law) family and one of our fellow missionaries in the PI Becky Emperado and her kids. We had a wonderful time visiting with the whole group. We finally left Houston about 1 AM and arrived in College Station to the house of my grandparents at a little after 2. I slept through that drive too :D We all suffered MAJOR jetlag. It took a while for us to cope. After a few days, we went to Bandera , where my father's family lives, and visited them. After the weekend, we returned to College Station and prepared to set off and visit a LOT of people! We headed north and went through Dallas, Oklahoma City, Denton, Denison, and many other cities visiting friends and supporters. We had a fun time, we haven't seen these people for a long time. It was wonderful :D
After our long travels, we returned to College Station, where I am now as I write this report. Tomorrow we'll be heading out to Bandera again for a full month to spend time with my grandparents. We'll return to College Station in August. Lordwilling...
Oh! another thing! I am scheduled to take the GED in Brenham (a town close to College Station) on August 14 & 15. Please be praying for that. This means, of course, that I'm done with school! Summer!!! Heehee :D I love taking breaks, although this one is a little more complicated. But, after our furlough here in the states, Lordwilling we'll be returning to the Philippines and I'll be with them. I plan to go through an apprenticeship under my father, Barry Murrell. Because of this, I'm looking to raise $200 per month for monthly expenses. My parents are looking for support too. If you are interested to look into what we need, please click here. There is more information on our plans and goals.
Thanks for your continued interest. Please keep praying for my family and I as we travel and look for these funds to continue our work. If you want to be emailed to be informed about my new reports, please email me at smurrell89@yahoo.com. Thanks!
In him...
Sara Murrell
